Sculpting with Paper Clay
w/ Elizabeth Smith Jacobs
This one day workshop will introduce attendees to the many possibilities that paper clay opens up to the clay sculptor.
When cellulose fibers are incorporated into traditional clays, most of the traditional rules of clay constructing don't apply, opening up a world of infinite possibilities.
This hands on workshop will cover basic construction techniques, unique applications, and how to incorporate this versatile material into your clay practice.
Minimum 4, maximum 8 students.
Exact location and logistics sent upon registration.

Extremely strong as greenware, paper clay can be worked in multiple layers of wet over dry, and altered at nearly any stage in the forming process. The final glazed and fired result can be indistinguishable from conventional Clay. Some of the sculptural freedoms have never been possible with conventional clays.
